Anyone care to enlighten us as to why glutamine and creatine are useless? I have done some reading that says otherwise, however, if someone can come up with something empirical, I would love to see it.

On the other hand this could also just be some GetBig-psuedoscience. Just curious, not trying to offend, but, for example, one of the enzymes required to produce actin REQUIRES the amino group on the end of the glutamine side-chain to make this happen. But it is useless, I mean what bodybuilder needs actin right? It is also important in nitrogen transport across cellular membranes. Bodybuilders don't need that either right?

As for creatine, well I would like to know why people think it is useless.

Most people are looking for a chemical to instantly add lean muscle mass.  Creatine and glutaime have been so over pumped by marketing people as such a chemical.  Bodybuilding is a marthon not a sprint!!!!

You put on real lean mass by eatting correctly, lifting hard, resting and long term use of chemicals if you wish.  A perfect example is gh.  You don't take a gh shot and wake up the next morning with 2 pounds of real lean muscle.  It is a long term process.  Same with sups!  There is no sup that will increase lean mus. over night.  Most short term (within 3 weeks) weight gain by sups and roids is water.  I can see a d-bol user a 100 meters away or even creatine.

Sups can play a role in helping you meet your diet needs.  But do you really think your body knows the differences between 100 cals of protein from tuna or a protein shake?

Getting back to my main point real muscle is built over years and not weeks, but that isn't marketable as the mark-up on tuna is low!  So be careful when reading marketing info.  as they all want your $$$$$........

Just my thoughts

You are correct. However, there is no doubt that some things do indeed have a physiological effect that some people want to discount only because they feel like it, which is an ignorant thing to do.

Who on Earth made that assessment, especially with creatine?

I remember my first experience loading with creatine nearly 10 years ago, using Phosphagen HP. 17 days and 12 lbs. later, I was a believer.

As I've said before, creatine is like the "crack" of supplements: You get the biggest hit the first time you use it.

Creatine, I'm pretty sure is a legit product.  I've had good results in the past using the monohydrate powder (felt a little stronger; able to squeeze out a couple more reps in each set and faster recovery times between sets).

Glutamine, I'm not so sure...and you get them in protein powders anyhow.

What are the benefits of using BCAA's? A worthy product?
