Bisping - potentially our best?
« on: June 24, 2006, 05:15:26 AM »
not many UK fighters have succeeded in MMA with the exception of Lee Murray, Ian Freeman, Mark Weir and possibly Lee Remedios. Could he eclipse them all or is he looking good because the rest are just plain shit fighters? Thoughts? I hope hes not another Lee Hasdell

Mike will prevail and bring home the big win to the UK with an easy victory IMO!  I'll be there tonight to give a first hand account for what happens.  Till then...

We wont know how good bisping is till after the ultimate fighter.  Lets face it, the guys have really been lackluster this season (for the most part).  I'm curious who they will put him against after it is over and how well he will do.

Plus he can probably cut to 185.  He is chubby at 205.

Really?  He looks like he's barely making 205; he probably could suck down to 185, but it'd hurt.

Your right, plus when you see him in person it's easy to see he could be a 185'er

bisbing is way overrated.  shit, the fat guy with the blue mohawk gave him a fight!  he's gonna get hammered when he meets truly skilled mma fighters.  he'll get better no doubt, but i don't see him ever doing much at 205.
two thumbs WAY up!!!

Bisbing can fight period...That fat guy when he cuts weight and gets down under 180, he is gonna be someone to watch out for...He can take a punch and he's got some serious power...

bisping is gonna be a better fighter...man has some of the best instincts i've seen in someone that hasn't had alot of cage experience yet

The fat guy may have 'heart' but he has no skill.  He is a brawler, better suited to tough man competitions.

Bisping has 11 fights (agianst no namers) so he hasn't exactly never been in the ring.  We'll see what he can do when they put him against a good 205'er... Until then, he is just hoopla.

Bisping will get stomped in the 205's and it's just a matter of time before his weakness' come out.  Bonnar, Forrest, Rashad just name someone, they would slaughter him easy in the first round.  He seems to get faded easy with small punches that rattle him and make him back up shaking it off.  That type of move will be like feeding steak to a pitbull with a seasoned fighter.  I think he has a weak jaw and it will come out soon.  Plus I think he does not have a strong ability to finish someone when they're hurt.  Yeah, yeah, he won be ref stoppage but it was not a brutal ending and he could've won long before if he put more heart into it!  Just my .02...

That guy with the blue hair has the most severe case of invisible lat syndrome I have ever seen. If I didn't know any better I would think the guy thought he was a potential Mr. Olympia competitor, the way he walked around the octagon. No but seriously I think the guys a class act, especially the clip of him working at the strip club.

I'm not so sure...He never looks nervous at all in the cage...Like he is in total control...He is a pure fighter...I do wonder how he will do when he really gets rocked...He took a good shot the other night and backed away quite a bit and then did the classic shake off (like it didn't hurt him) but it did....It will be interesting to see just what kind of jaw he really has

his confidence is what impersses me the most, hes totally convinced he is going to win his fights and never doubts it for a second. At the moment, i can see him getting owned by Forrest, Stephan and Tito to name a few, but he has plenty of time to work his way up

imo, bisping is only going to improve and be a force.  top 10 in the near future, top 5 at his best but no champion

I'm with this assessment.

Bisping seems like a bright guy with, heart and a good work ethic. With those qualities, he should live up to his potential, but he just doesn't strike me as somebody special, like a GSP.

I saw the lat syndrome, too.  I just shook my head.  He seriously can't think he's "huge".  Dude's physique is a mess.

Is he security at the strip club?

He went form 330 pounds to fight at 205 at a very high level. Sure he looks like shit, but you gotta give him props for dedication. He said he is going to drop to 180, he will never be a great fighter(no ground game), but he has a ton of heart.
