It felt as if someone were smacking me in the head with a cactus.

I don't know why (maybe the visual), but that made me LOL

Taking asprin 3xday is a good way to burn a hole in your stomach and not effective for fat loss unless you're obese (and then only maybe)

The aspirin isnt for fatloss, it helps delay the breakdown of cAMP

Thermo-Gen II w/ephedra by Sci-Fit is probably the best in my opinion.  Mysupplementstore.com has it cheap.

I may give it a whirl, in about a month or two. Incidentally, I read about it on a site called "Supplement Judge", where posters rate certain supplements. The reviews are good, as many claim it's helped them burn off bodyfat rather quickly. The consensus downsides appear to be inability to sleep, constant urination, and....RED FECES!!!

Actually, it may be from that red dye they put in the capsules.

CLA is definately a solid product, but I don't think it's 'thermogenic' by definition.  Of course, I may be wrong....

Eph and Caffeine are the cheapest route to go if you have the means.  If not....I'll still stand by Lipo

i lived on ephedra for way too long, so synephrine products don't really do anything for me..... and i hated Lipo 6 (its basically and ECY stack but with synephrine.... im pretty sure)..... Hydroxycut Hardcore and Redline are pretty good they have evodiamine.... really give you a kick.....

Conjugated linoleic acid supplementation for 1 y reduces body fat mass in healthy overweight humans

American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Vol. 79, No. 6, 1118-1125, June 2004
Background: Short-term trials showed that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may reduce body fat mass (BFM) and increase lean body mass (LBM), but the long-term effect of CLA was not examined. Objective: The objective of the study was to ascertain the 1-y effect of CLA on body composition and safety in healthy overweight adults consuming an ad libitum diet. Design: Male and female volunteers (n = 180) with body mass indexes (in kg/m2) of 25–30 were included in a double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Subjects were randomly assigned to 3 groups: CLA-free fatty acid (FFA), CLA-triacylglycerol, or placebo (olive oil). Change in BFM, as measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, was the primary outcome. Secondary outcomes included the effects of CLA on LBM, adverse events, and safety variables. Results: Mean (± SD) BFM in the CLA-triacylglycerol and CLA-FFA groups was 8.7 ± 9.1% and 6.9 ± 9.1%, respectively, lower than that in the placebo group. Subjects receiving CLA-FFA had 1.8 ± 4.3% greater LBM than did subjects receiving placebo (P = 0.002). These changes were not associated with diet or exercise. LDL increased in the CLA-FFA group, HDL decreased in the CLA-triacylglycerol group, and lipoprotein(a) increased in both CLA groups  compared with month 0. Fasting blood glucose concentrations remained unchanged in all 3 groups. Glycated hemoglobin rose in all groups from month 0 concentrations, but there was no significant difference between groups. Adverse events did not differ significantly between groups. Conclusion: Long-term supplementation with CLA-FFA or CLA-triacylglycerol reduces BFM in healthy overweight adults.

So you would say, based on this study, that CLA is the best thermogenic supplement?  What metabolic pathways does CLA workthrough?  Also, a year is a pretty long time...

Nope Sniffy, not what I'm saying at all.  If you had read my above post, I said that ephedrine and caffeine is the best if you have the means.

I said CLA was a solid product in answer to another's question.  Although CLA is not thermogenic,.  Princess L asked what I based that opinion on.....therefore, I posted that study.

Hmm.....I feel like I'm being cross-examined here

What he meant was that aspirin has been linked to pathological conditions such as GERD and gatroesophageal ulcers. It inhibits pain via cAMP breakdown but it increase HCL production in the stomach. I know it is a proven stack and have used it myself, but I would drop the aspirin out of the stack if I were to use it now.

If you reference CLA in the AJCN you will see there are other studies which show it to have no effect in humans.  I think to say it is solid based upon one study is a bit of a stretch.

I like Thermocin by At Large.

A solid thermogenic supplement. Delivers results, no more, no less. Unlike a lot of other bullshit companies who uses manipulated pics and shit.

Beware of the sneaky sponsored athletes who prowls on this site though. They're trying to push At Large products for some reason.
