Could this year be the last year of awarded mass monsters after Ronnie wins?

No. They say it will be, but Cutler will get an O in 2007 before he retires. After that, it'll be either a heath plus 30 pounds, or someone who is a nobody right now (JoJ or Freeman??)

I really don't think Jay will ever get an olympia title...I think he will be cursed in history as runner-up...

Agree with you.

There are all these silly time frames, and how certain guys are supposed to be Mr O.

They won't let anyone but Cutler win until Sami, Heath and Rocco are ready to RocknRoll.

ah good call zack - I forgot about Sami. I don't know if he has the muscle bellies to win it - he has great lines, but we don't know what he'll look like when he blows up.

Is this speculation, or has Ronnie announced that he will retire this year?
If not, I wouldn't be surprised if he aims for at least a 10th Sandow.

P.S. Jay Cutler will never win the Mr. Olympia.
The Olympia is a dynasty and Jay is well beyond his prime.

I don't see any amount of gear or calories turning Alexx into a mass monster lol...Only in his own mind will he ever be a mass monster...Oh I forgot he already thinks he is lol

I agree, Jay is going to get overlooked. Once Ronnie is gone, the look goes with him.
Dex is the heir apparent to the throne. This way they get the new X-frame look they have been sending memo's about for the past few years. It takes them a while but eventually the IFBB figures a way to get what they want.

I don't really think anybody can say Dex isn't Mr. O material. He has the past credentials and the qualities needed.

I will even throw this thought out for the "conspiracy crowd"
Wayne has stated he wants to limit the drug use and present a more mainstream look.
Having Dex as Mr. O gives rewards all the IFBB pro's who actually have the physique that Wayne is promoting thus discouraging them to seek rewards outside of the IFBB.

I agree fully in this...After all how many pros can really bring their physique to the quality of Dex's, IMO that is a physique much more difficult to obtain rather than being a mass monster...

mass monsters will always win. if you have seen ronnie or jay in person and then see dex in person you will see why they win. not little guys like dex, darrem etc....

I know I wouldn't mind seeing a pro like Victor Martinez be top of the land, he has the physique for it...Although, I think they will go with new blood for the upset factor and they won't give it to a "shorter" bodybuilder even if he has the better physique...

Vic hasn't shown the conditioning needed to do any damage.

What does a "shorter" bodybuilder have to do with anything? I heard they won't give it to a guy with purple posing trunks even if he has a better physique.

Definitely don't count Dex out of the mix, after seeing him walking around at USAs he will be bigger and as shredded as ever.

I am not counting him out at all as I would love to see him take it too, I have liked Dex since he came out and would love to see a shorter bodybuilder take the crown...History has proven that shorter bodybuilders get over-looked all the time though...

There's no way Jay will ever be Mr Olympia. His physique has peaked and, unfortuantely, its going to go downhill from here. He's destined to be the next Nasser and will be lucky to make top 3 this year.

Dex will be the 11th Mr. Olympia.

I would love to see it...It would the first time in a long time a perfectly aesthetic body was rewarded at the big show since Haney....
