what do all the Mr. O's have in common?
« on: August 27, 2006, 03:13:43 AM »
intensity, intensity, intensity

drug use is a given, but thats not what separates them...they all abused

intensity is what separates

coleman, dorian, arnold

was haney as intense?  i dont know as much about his training style, maybe someone can elaborate

guys like serge nubret had awesome phyiques but trained with less intensity, and is that what held them back from being champions?

training with extreme intensity isnt for everyone....some people break down from injuries much quicker, and are destined for the less "freakish" look

and before you say "its all genetics" take a look at dorian before he achieved his olympia-caliber physique...the guy simply refused to let his body NOT grow, as evidenced by his injuries in his later career....and to a lesser extent, same with arnold, without the injuries

Lee Haney was pretty much a "Moderation is key" kind of guy.

Stimulate, don't annihilate was a phrase he used.

Arnold did the same thing (as opposed to Michalik, Defendis, Casey Viator and Mike Mentzer, guys who pushed failure).

I don't think intensity is what set them apart.
