Not really.  I think they were pretty evenly matched, and in the history of Mr. Olympia judging, when has a Mr. Olympia lost unless he was completely knocked out.  No matter how you cut it, that didn't happen.

Generally in the case of a draw, or even in the case of the current Mr. Olympia being 10% worse, he will STILL win.  So the outcome is still odd to me.

very true

Jay was clearly the better man this year and frankly in some of the pics it looks like Ronnie is 3rd .

It is clear that Ronnie stayed around 1 year too long.

I alway believe that if the PDI wasn't around Ronnie would have won also :)

Matt i thought you would be one of the people who could see that there was no way on gods green earth that that man could have been given another olympia, the gut,the gyno, the back(or lack of half of it), way way out of condition, very fishy calf's and the triceps, it would have been ridiculous if hed gotten another one.

Yes, but Ronnie has had those flaws before and he still won it right?  Look at 2002 as an example of when Ronnie had many flaws and still took it.  Jay also had flaws in that he was lacking Ronnie's muscle density and had a wider waist.  Let's not forgot the skinfolds on Jay's lower back and his glutes, while much improved, were still soft compared to Ronnie's.  Ronnie had Jay on arms and chest (save for the gyno).

The victory would not have been a clear cut one this year - you could even argue Victor Martinez could have won it.

I will be cranking out articles about this all day and I will post more details on my thoughts later on.

Yes i suppose your right but he usually brings better condition and his lat looked really bad, but i can see what you mean about him questionably winning in the past and won or the top 2 being pretty evenly matched and giving the nod to the champ, the way i see it is that i hope this is the shape of things to come with the best man on stage winning, whoever it is and not just the man who won it the year before automatically retaining the title until he decides he doesnt want it anymore.

What happened yesterday is a good thing for bodybuilding imo, definitely a step in the right direction in making the IFBB and pro bodybuilding look less like pro wrestling with fixed outcomes.

You Ronnie guy! You're worse than Hulkster! >:( According to the udges, your boy was flaT ouT destroyed. No contest! "That didn't happen"?! Bullshit! Cutler defeated him 38 to 22 points! I personally think it was close, but the udges saw it as a massacre on Cutler's part. ;)

The thing is that Ronnie was 50% worse. No contest, dude: your boy got it handed to him. Now, I think that Ronnie still defeated Cutler in quadriceps and pectoralis muscularity, and he still had the best midsecTion. But the only thing Coleman had decisively on him were biceps. Last year, Cutler had matched Ronnie for lat width, but still didn't have his thickness. This year it became obvious that he surpassed Ronnie for width and was at least as thick. This combined with his striated hams and superior calves, gave Cutler the whole win from the back.

As far as mandatories go, I'd give Ronnie the front double biceps, abs-and-thighs and side chest - on virtue of his thicker pectoralis. But Cutler won the side triceps, front lat spread, back double biceps and rear lat spread decisively, both from a muscularity and symmery standpoints. I would still give Ronnie the symmetry round overrall, on account of his superior structure and better midsection. All things considered, Cutler was a deserving winner. Admit it, you Ronnie nut-milker! >:(
