carb timing
« on: August 05, 2007, 08:53:50 AM »
i am currently 5'9 194lbs and cutting....my bf is right around 14-15%

i have been keeping carbs restricted to first meal(morning) and immediately after working out(gatorade with added maltodextrin)...then some for dinner which is second meal after workout

my theory was to keep glycogen low during the day(i have a desk job) so at workout time i am digging into fat stores rather than glycogen stores....i do weight training followed by 30-45 minutes of low impact cardio after work

i seem to be losing about 1/2-1lb a week and don't seem to be losing muscle or strength

seems to be working well, slow but well

any comments about carb timing from the veterans out there??

add some carbs to a pre-workout shake, to provide more energy for the workouts.

other than that, you're fine IMO.
