Curious....So much talk about "male hormones" here...interesting..did anyone know that women produce testosterone by the ovaries and adrenal gland?
Did anyone know that chromosomes determine gender not hormones?
Muscle development is not determined soley by gender alone.
Witness the comparisons of men's leg development to women. Women have naturally more muscle development especially in the calve area compared to men.
In the gym I notice a good 90% of all of the men in the gym look like they are riding chickens, as their legs are so frail looking, I also see regular non-bodybuilding women with very highly developed muscular legs, making these guys look...well a lot weaker and smaller.
I guess it is the upper body development that is the issue as that is the main area that is noted for having overall strength, hence the all time consistent annoying question "how much can you bench" That is an area where only men have real strength and women are not suppose to...okey, dokey.
Testosterone is simply a hormone that both men and women produce, men produce a significant amount more in general. There are some women who do produce higher than normal amounts than other women.. this does not make them men, remember women produce testsoterone as well, it did not come from anywhere else other than her own female organ the ovary and the adrenal gland. Testosterone promotes certain characteristics, these characteristics are also found in women, again women produce testosterone on their own. Women also produce body hair in the same exact places as you men...we just shave it all off, and no the girls on the porn sites are not really how they would look if they did not shave, sometimes I think men prefer little girls instead of women, I have no desire to shave my crotch as I refuse to look like a ten year old child.
Anyway back to characteristics, these characteristics are more visible in men simply because there is more testosterone in the males system. Testosterone is not a hormone that men can make claim to being all their own as it is found in women's ovaries. Men produce estrogen as well....now do you tell yourselves I produce a female hormone?? You are now saying, but we do not produce that much. Now you probably want to say that estrogen is simply a hormone that both men and women produce but women produce a significant amount more of it....and their it all is.
So if women take testosterone is it really as foreign a substance as it is made to be since some women already have Testosterone to begin with? As far as taking an excess and developing more of these characteristics that are more usual in men still does not make a woman a man..chromosomes determine that. She is simply a women with higher test levels. Now if women did not produce any testosterone at all and only men did, and gender was the predominating factor for muscle development then the transsexual statement might be valid. Since this is not accurate it is not.
Women bodybuilders are not transsexuals by any means whatsoever.
If this is so then the same can be said for the male bodybuilders who take too much testosterone and have it convert back into estrogen.. you know the hormone that women produce a lot more of giving them certain characteristics.....
