Oh, I bet he's kicking himslef right now - not a good choice of word if you're white and in a room full of blacks. I bet he's at home curled up in the foetal position wishing the world would swallow him up.

I think he knew he was bombing, wanted to reach for something outrageous to save the night. Went over the line chasing laughs. Didn't realize it until too late. If it hadn't been filmed wouldn't have been such a big deal.

According to experienced stand-ups, he's not that used to being on stage otherwise he would have used one of the  standard ways to defuse heckling.

Three things:

1. Michal Richards is as jewish as Schpitzel & Schnitzel (attorneys at law);

2. The fact that he used "hanged" and "blacks" in the same sentence pretty much says it all: he is a biggot, and;

3. Some of his relatives were burned to death in Treblinka or Sorbibor about 65 years ago (as opposed to being hanged which only implies physical mutilation-Nazis wanted the physical and spiritual extermination of the jews... which is even worst).

Know yer facts.

I think he was trying to get a laugh by being obnoxious,but it backfired,as Pumpster said.However,I think that anytime someone goes to that level to use those types of insults,that they are a racist...whether they will admit it to themselves or not.Those feelings were there they just normally keep them quiet.
