Rack deads is one of the best exercises you can do for your back.

The ignorance is strong within GetBig.

Six plates for one rep is far from a video worthy lift though, that's true.

Rack deads with 1/8 range of motion?

I agree that rack deadlifts can be a great exercise!  But a one rep max with 6 plates videotaped? ::)

I do them but I put the supports on the lowest level and at times I stand on top of the aerobics steppers so I can at least go to parallel.

I prefer rack deadlifts to conventional ones where you take the weight from the ground. From the ground is just powerlifting and it has no benefit to stimulating muscle growth IMO.

Take the bar from the rack and go just below the knees, then straighten up. Works just as well. There's no reason why you can't do it with a lot of weight either. A few inches range of motion is pointless for bodybuilding.

What a fucking joke.

Those 2 guys might look big but theres nothing hardcore about doing deads when theres only about 3-4 inches ROM

The hardest part is clearing the weight in the begining working the lower back, forearms and hams.

Other than that great clip

You know, I've sat back and read post after post and battle after battle between Jack and lots of others on these boards.  I'm trying to figure it out, and Jack sorry for not contacting you personally.  Why, why would you draw all this attention to yourself?  6 plates in a cage with the bar beginning at your knees when your bodyweight is what, about 260 lbs. not in shape I may add, your belly is evident right through your sweatshirt.  That's just not impressive, I'm sorry.  These are the reasons you get picked on and put down when you post all your claims and justifications.

The thing is, i believe Jack, when most people on these boards here the word "pro," they expect a bit more.  A bit more physique, a bit more weight and so forth.  You've gotten trashed on these boards numerous times, and I must say I don't believe that's right, but maybe you should do a bit more to prevent this.  Putting yourself out there is probably not the way to go.  You've repeated over and over "One show a career does not make," and I do agree, but again putting yourself out there with less than impressive lifts and a mediocre physique will only keep getting you trashed, especially when to most people on these boards you did not "earn" your pro card.

Sorry, just the way I feel.

Carlo

Nice post.

http://240fm.com/london/journal.htm

I don't know if that's six, seven, or eight plates on each side on those rack deads.

Looks pretty damn heavy tho.

Rob, If it's Rhino's training journal why in the hell did he have you put that one there? All you see in two mnutes is him do one rep but we get to see his partner (who's probably bigger then most here) do a couple sets. It seems kinda pointless to have only a brief glimpse of yourself in your training journal. Just my thoughts.

imo the rack deads are amazing at just blowing the hell out of whatever you've got left in your muscles once they've been pre-exhausted...and for all we know (240, Rhino might wanna specify) he just did 20 sets of hard back work and is just doing this as a finishing movement.

I believe that he probably did a hard back workout before the deadlift. However, I feel that having those shots of his partner doing her sets & then him doing one rep doesn't really have a place in his training journal.

I always get a lot of strange looks when I do things like 20lb dumbell curls at the end of a workout and I'm panting like a dog, sweating like a pig, and making faces only a mother could love.
