Pre-Exhaustion as a normal part of my routines
« on: December 19, 2006, 11:11:52 PM »
Hey guys
I have decided to use more weider training priniples like pre-exhaus and supersets. mainlyb/c of some joint issues. the cold weather doesnt help.  so, it makes it hard to get up the weight that i would be without the pain...... I have see how pros use pre exhaus on their normal worout like doing sed laterals before shoulder presses and flyes before benches.... can i leave in the pre exhaus as a part of my normal workout or just do it as a shocker??

thx guys

only as a shocker.  Maybe once every other workout for a body part use a 'weider' technique, and not always the same one!
It hasn't helped...

look up Ellington Darden...he's done extensive routines that involve pre-exhaust and double pre-exhaust techniques, I've never really tried his stuff but it's well thought out and a good read.

Well I guess I'm the one who has to break the disappointing news; SS's and pre-exhaust training did not start with the Weider (either Joe, Ben or Betty) principle. The Weider principle is to fleece the most money out of the unaware public. Most of the Pro's I've seen train in SO Cal don't use that method that often (if ever), but suit yourself. But who knows, training styles seem to come in cycles for awhile, and pre-exhausting could be in full bloom some time in the future.

You could leave the pre-exhause system as a regular part of training. Probably 6 to 8 week cycles, if you train that way. Could also try the one and one half system (very effective) as another form of being joint friendly. 10X10's, 8X8's, etc are also joint saving because only a moderate weight is used throughout each set. Good Luck.
