Why is their not alot of African American fighters in MMA when in fact they own boxing?

Where I train, everybody is white.  I'm kinda surprised there isn't at least a few minorities but that will probably change with time.  I think alot of people get discouraged at how much it can cost.  Boxing is still cheaper and I think there are alot of smaller gyms that set up in some of the lower cost areas.

Cause it's one on one and gangs are not allowed nor weapons (joke)!  Boxing is just that, quick hands can do well with a little power but that's as far as they go.  Have you ever seen a world champion grecko wrestler that's black or an olympic wrestling champ that's black?  I can't ever remember one.

All the heavyweight boxing champs are Russians/East-Europeans except that steroid black guy with the dreadlocks.

African Americans dominate boxing and only time will tell how long before they dominate MMA. (Silva, McDonald are a start)

Do not compare boxing to MMA. MMA requires much more skilss, sacrifice and full body Strength. You fight everyone from everywhere, in boxing careers are manage and fights arranged. Any top Afro American boxer would be destroyed in MMA. Besides that, European athletes have an advantage in genetics, they are Stronger!!!

Come to think of it...as a whole mexicans probably dominate boxing!  Every gym I have been to is packed full of essa's! ;D
