weak overall line-up..both tony and dudgale look great.....dugdale should beat freeman though.   i think the decisionbetween mark and tony will be a big indicator in where weider is taking this sport.    they gave jay the olympia, which im pretty sure means that they are valuing aesthetics to a higher degree than muscle mass.     but even by the old rule, where muscle mass can beat aesthetics if the bigger guys is bigger to the point where the smaller guys aesthetics are over ridden, i believe that dudgale wins this one.   his aesthetics shape and conitioning are so superior to freemans, that tonys extra size is not enough to give him the title. if they give him first place....then they are saying that mass is more valuable than aesthetics...

just some perceptions

Jay is massive with horrible aesthetics...so how does that show that aesthetics are greater valued now?  Huh

i agree that dugdale has a tad better conditioning than freeman - but freeman was the favorite coming into the show.

Remember last year... i'm a HUGE lee priest fan - but imo david was the best on the day of the show.

the top three callouts shows to me that the judges haven't changed a bit.  If I were a judge, first and second would be between David Henry and Silvio Samuel

Good Morning and HOw you doing?Huh

aesthetics shape and conitioning  - is Toney Freeman - Mark looked good - as always however when a man is "Two inches taller and his waist is two inches smaller" how can you beat him. Toney is the aesthetics shape and conitioning  of Bodybulding - Never out of shape during the year .  He Leaped frog over Mark from improvements made. He was wider , bigger , conditioned and Stage ownage.

Mark - shouldn't have beaten the Xman last year however when he did Toney turned around and grinded out 3 more shows and placed well.

The XMan is coming - may not be what you want but do not let it cloud your vision.  Mark could give Phil Heath and Dexter some hell - LEt's all agree there needs to be two classes in the pros. Tall and short - MOre money , more champions and more interest -TRUE STORY

David Henry was off, you clearly were not there. Toney was the winner - no question about it. Look for him to get sharper as he runs the table the next three shows.

Even though alot of the big names guys weren't there I think it does show a change. Tony is very asthetically pleasing. Small waist, wide back, quad sweep and he was very conditioned.  I would of had him winning and Mark 2nd as well.  Silvio was good but needs more quad seperation, has to be tighter in the hams and learn how to pose.  I think Ahmad Haidar looked better.

Thanks for supporting bodybuilding.com - next time bring your binoculars or clean your glasses.  Grin

David Henry was off and not even close to being in the top spot. I'd have him further down on the list of top ten then what he was.

I think the show was between Silvio and Dugdale, but Freeman had all the hype, which carried him to victory...

I'm a huge mark Dugdale fan and his condition was spot on but when he stood next to to Toney he was dwarfed......toney's sweep was much more prevalent than mark's and the x-frame that toney has is much more distinct than marks.......hence the reason i feel competitions should be held by weight class...how is a 5'5 well conditioned and muscular bb supposed to compete against say a 6'2" well conditioned very muscular bb. If both are at there best then who is truly the declared winner.

I'm down with BuffD.  Why does Ahmad Haidar get no talk whatsoever?  I've always thought he looks amazing, but especially good at the Ironman.  Conditioning was on, round bellies, and very symmetrical.  I think more muscle on his physique takes away what he presents.  Lower back thickness is all I can see him lacking.  Freeman did win the show. Thought the Euro guys looked sick too but just not aesthetic.  Samuel is a freak.  Dim looked better than I thought everyone was saying.
