Let me guess,,, He died of Aids... Probably was with hundreds of gay guys, totally reckless when it came to his sexual encounters and then what a surprise... he contracts the HIV virus.

Now, now. No need to be sarcastic or mean spirited. You know, it IS possible to be HIV positive and still die from cancer, being hit by a car, have a fatal heart attack, etc. Getting a positive test result does not mean that is necessarily going to be your cause of death. Still, your posts touches on a stigma that persists even today: family and sometimes friends never want to "admit" that the person in questioned died of AIDS. I’ve seen this firsthand several times. It’s silly and only adds to the sadness of the loss.  |

It’s silly and only adds to the sadness of the loss. today, in first world countries with adequate health care (even the US), very few people with HIV are dying of AIDS. The lymphoma can still get you, but all the other opportunistic infections that people were dying from in the 80s and early 90s are easily managed today. the people who are dying are the ones who have secondary issues, such as hep-C (usually from IV drugs) or drug addiction (because people staying up for 3 days on crystal meth tend to forget to take their HIV meds, leading to resistance to those meds). take your HIV meds consistantly and you can keep your viral load undetectable or nearly so. and if your viral load is under 10k, you're not going to progress to full blown AIDS. that's not to say that there aren't side effects of the HIV meds that can be life threatening. The HIV meds can cause your cholesterol and triglycerides to go sky high, leading to heart disease. (high fiber, such as 3-4 tablespoons of psyllium a day, and fish oil capsules, 12 a day, can help) and lipoatrophy, the improper redistribution of fat, facial wasting, increase in visceral fat, buffalo hump, is a problem for many. lots of people with HIV in the US, very few will die directly from AIDS. |

Doubtful we will ever know that, but it's probably no more than competitors take today. I don't have them, but I have seen several BB contest pix of him when he competed on stage... so basically he was doing what everyone else was doing to get ready for a show. |
