Is your friend looking to get off?  There are things that can help.
If someone dont want to stop, there is no reason to bother.
Sometimes people who tell it straight, and dont sugar coat stuff, are  in  best interest.
Feelings dont help solve serious problems.

Have you actually talked to him about this? If not confront him. If he's taking it daily - he's an addict.
