USA pulling out of Iraq doesn't mean that USA in anyway has lost its position as the worlds leading nation.

On the contrary.

Pulling out is necessary to stay as the leader of the world.

In short: USA will continue to be #1, but will hopefully be more of a positive force than during the Bush years.

Just curious, How do you lose a war when there is nothing left of the former government or military? You can say we were never able to end all guerrilla activity or restore order but as a force we came we saw and we won. The us Military is not a containment force or police department. Its target acquisition and destruction of said target. Everything else is politics and thats something there never is any winners from.

It's too bad that the American public and perhaps even our failed government care more about listening to reports about the gold digging dead whore than about the 10 guys killed last week in Iraq. When the CINC, George W. Bush, goes on television to declare this country is going on a war footing, puts forth a tax increase to pay for fixing the military, including a significant tax on gas, and also asks the able bodied to head down to the recruiting centers ASAP, then I will believ that the public will take this "TV" war seriously. They will demand we win and pull out and then we can get back to righting the economy long term and alowing the European wussbags to kiss our ass and thank us for saving them from Islam. If we don't we're done in Iraq.

In this instance I think the poll takers were actually being pragmatic. They see the giant quagmire that is Iraq, they see the death and destruction still occurring on a daily basis even after all these years and they don't envision a scenario of us succeeding in this administration's goals.
