if you consider the larger plan - a sustained war for 7 to 10 years so we can grab control of middle eastern oil - then letting Osama go was planned.

Just like dragging out this war is planned.

The minute osama is dead and iraqi is peaceful and these attacks stop happening, guess what?  We get sent home by the UN, and we lose the oil.
