New commerce dept regulations limit what scientists can talk about

Scientists in the fed govt are suddenly being gagged across the board, starting may 14th.

they may not speak on topics without permission, and each statement must be approved?

National weather service is affected also. Their scientists are now silent on topics like, say, global warming.

This goes against all former policies where scientists were allowed to speak out as pvt citizens.

I didn't know that one low level scientist, speaking at a college lecture on his OPINION on evidence's meaning, would cause such widespread changes.

personally I am all about free speach and don't think it is right for the government to censor....but we have seen what one guy can do with the correct words. Hitler for one

i am not sure we can compare a phd with an opinion on global warming with a tyrant who killed millions.

And I think global warming is way overblown by a bunch of drama queens.

but censoring the scientists will only fuel doubt, ruin white house credibility, and stop whistleblowers when something really bad is being covered up by the white house. And we do know they do it.

I always think it's funny as hell when someone has no knowledge of the global warming model beyond what comes of the term, "Global Warming" They reference a cold spell as proof lolol...

The government is out of the control when it comes to regulating what people can or cannot say..

There was a highschool kid here in NYC who jokingly wrote that he'd like "shoot George W. Bush" in a column that he wrote for his school paper. Guess what? He was payed a visit by the secret service.

Tell me something about global warming, how long til the planet turns into a fireball and explodes because of it.

Remember, i don't have kids so as long as the planet will be here another 30-50 years which i'll definitely be dead somewhere along the way, i don't much give a crap.

Honestly, anyone that voices the desire to shoot the president should be added to a list. That will be that way no matter who is president.
