What SHOULD happen and what is reality are not necessarily the same thing. Yes, I would love to see the Olympia on PPV, for that matter, I would love to see it prime time on ABC Wide World of Sports...but we have to build it up to a respectable fan base in order for those options to become viable.
Right now, we have a great opportunity to bring Pro BB to a worldwide audience and showcase the athletes (bring more interest) BEFORE the Olympia...I believe this is essential in bringing new fans into the sport and along with it, more sponsors.
More fans, yes for sure...webcast all the other shows...ironman, NY...Montreal, Atlantic city...i don't care, but how do you expect to give the Olympia the monacre of "top show" when it's on the same level as the others??? not to mention it's been around for 40 years! and has been on PPV before, now you've downgraded to Webcast?
Even if it is "good" for sponsors, many people won't want to watch it,simply because they
1) don't have the means to hook up the PC to the TV
2) don't want to worry about lagging broadcasts / blurry images
so by "reaching the masses" your pissing off alot of people. why not just put it on PPV, for the same price as HBE or little less.
its like someone mentioned in another thread
20,000 viewers at 20.00$ (400,000.00$)
1,000,000 viewers at FREE (0$)
hopefully the sponsors are putting up shitloads of money for the expected "exposure"
but when you think of it...if people who are too cheap to order a PPV event, but watch a FREE webcast, what good is that to the supplement companies / sponsors?
