Before the election Hillary said "if you are tired of high gas prices, vote democrat" When they took over in January gas was in the $2.20s, it has risen to the $3.20s. In her defense maybe she didn't realize that 3 was higher than 2.

The only way, long-term, to get rid of oil dependancy, is to raise oil prices, via taxes. Don't wait until the oil price goes up, it will only pro-long the use of gas-guzzling vehicles, and allow the domestic car makers to produce big gas-guzzling cars.

And funnel that money into alternative sources.
