Actually you are incorrect. Aging is simply a Biochemical process of apoptosis which can be COMPLETELY prevented given the right technology. We are on the brink of that technology with cell therapy and gene therapy via stem cell and many other technological implementations.
Supression of the PHA-4 gene is not difficult at all.
Doing nothing and thinking it as an accepted process is ignorant and idiotic.
I see where you are trying to go with this:
http://www.pha4.com/But the real fact of the matter is that there are far too many regulatory proteins and genes that are being excluded from this study. We don't know which are healthy and working properly like the cyclins, cyclin dependent kinases, telomerase, Rb, E2F and we can go on and on and on.
Bottom line is that I would bet anything that aging is not just "apoptosis" which (for some of the people here that might not have taken biology or biochemistry) is called "programmed cell death" that can occur through a variety of mechanisms and is REQUIRED in some cases for the maintenance of life. It also is not "just" supression of PHA-4. You probably know that gene because that study seems to support your ideas about starving yourself.
I am going outside because it would seem it is not me that needs to stay in and read a book. Maybe try that Adam. Something simple on the cell cycle and tumour progression and get back to us.
A great book for anyone that cares is "The Biology Of Cancer" by Robert Weinberg. It really is comprehensive and current.
