There is nothing "athletic" about:

1.  Lifting weights...I don't care how heavy they are.  If you are stationary and moving them it requires strength...not agility, quickness, speed, etc.

2.  Posing in trunks on a stage.  I'm not even going to begin to comment on this one.

You will find that a lot of FORMER ATHLETES get into weightlifting/bodybuilding because they like to stay ACTIVE when they are done playing their respective sports, NOT because the activity itself (weight-lifting/bodybuilding) is an athletic endeavor.  It's a pageant.
lifting weights..heavy ones requiers explosive power . Same thing requires to run fast , jump, etc. posing requires muscle endurance, especially when your body is so depleted . I'll take it u have never been on stage or you have never posed.

I am very lucky because I have never had joint pain.  I have lifted heavy since the day I started lifting.  No joint problems especially in my upper body.  I occasionally will have my right ankle hurt a little but just since the bite.  I know the weight is bad but considering, I am pretty good.  My knee sometimes fills with water when my lower leg does.  That is uncomfortable but goes away.  Other than that no real joint problems.

LMAO.....kiddy camp??

Athletes (real athletes) use our camps (not the boot camp you see on my site) for mainly to prepare for combines, pre-season and in-season conditioning, military, police and fire recruits as well as seasoned vetrans...........come on out and lets see how many times you can flip a 400lb tire, or pull a sled 40-60 yards with a 200lb load do a farmers carry with a couple of hundred pounds in each hand, then run footwork and agility drills.................. ......by the way, that was just a sample of an obstical course AFTER the 20 min warmups that are a workout in itself..........are you ready??

The thing is that bodybuilders don't compete in anything that requires athletisism in itself. They pose on a stage, which requires a bit of stamina, and a bit of skills.

But that's it.

Most get athletic, as a means to look good.

But bodybuilders aren't athletes. Only if there was some kind of athletic test during the comp.

That is also why you will see guys like Tamali and ET with oil injected. Something that doesn't increase their strength, only how they look.

It's a pageant of sorts.

I-One: Just curious, why would you have the clients do warmups so hard that they're fatigued after that?

They don't warm up until they're fatigued and I don't do it with my general public, only my athletes. One of the main keys to avoiding injury is a proper warm-up, beit, football, strongman or even powerlifting, it not only warms up the muscles and joints but also prepares the CNS for the upcoming event, I would have to say the majority of injuries come from either not warming up, not warming up long enough or improperly warming up.

Even my baseball Pony team or travel ball team (10 year olds) don't touch the ball until they have their 20min warm up and strech.

In the gym they do a about a 15min dynamic warmup, roll on the foam roller for 5min and strech for 5-10min then the work out!
