With such a large population base, USA should be able to pull it off relatively inexpensively.

{cough} Enron... Worldcom... {cough}

Even though it never happens?  We don't have an enormous debt and deficit because the feds run things inexpensively.

Arthur Anderson, etc., etc.  Like said, there are cheats and liars, but I trust a board of directors and/or business owners answerable to shareholders and consumers more than I trust the federal government.

I know my government quite well, which is why I don't want them in charge of socialized medicine, socialized legal system, etc.

{LOL} Touché! I guess that only leaves you one option then, ...maybe you need a better government?
Just a thought. I know a woman who'd be perfect for the job, ...she grew up a Republican on the north side of Chicago ...once took $1,000 and turned it into $100,000 in a matter of months. ...how's she sounding so far?  :P

Government run healthcare is a disaster. I'm in the military..we have government run health care. Its sucks...u rarely ever see a uniformed doctor who might actually care. Most are deployed. U end up with some Indian or Paki...sorry I want a guy who graduated from an American medical school. U do wait for appointments for non-emergencies and I've seen people wait for hours in the ER..bleeding. They are way understaffed. Many military hospitals out source for big operations. And don't take what u see in Iraq and Afghanistan as an idea about the level of care we get. We lead the world in heavy trauma medicine. Army docs do a great job if u get blown up...or burned etc. but run of the mill stuff...rotator tears...cancer etc etc..they don't have the experience and most military hospitals are staffed by non uniformed PA's. U can't see the doc's u want and u have to go to that hospital. U don't pick the drugs u want. If unlce sam doesn't buy the latest pills ur stuck with something that might not work. If this is what we can expect from public health...oh hell no. Again combat medicine and care is completey different then what we're all talking about..everyday healthcare.
