I think partially it has to do with some of these questions being so simple the people expect them to be more difficult and have a mental block. For instance they asked them to name a Country that began with the letter "U" and I thought about it for a second and came up with "Uganda", but it turns out the answer they were looking for was "United States" which I would probably not have guessed since I usually associate the name of the United states as being "America".

Another part of it is more and more today people are spending their time with non-academic persists and put little or no thought into the world outside of their immediate lives. Many Americans, especially American youths (though to be sure this isn't exclusive in America) spend a lot of their time on triflings such as "Myspace" or internet Chatrooms or Video Games or watching braindead T.V. shows all with no educational value. This seems to be becoming more and more pervasive as far as I can tell and probably will continue to do so until the number of scientists or engineers or learned people dwindle each year and the entire world will be populated by Idiots who can't operate the technology that their lives are based on and so humanity plummets into another Dark age.

There will always be stupid people. Believe it or not, some people just wont learn.. Not everyone can get a college diploma from even a decent university, or do/know things that come naturally to others.

Not trying scientific racism, but this stuff does hold a lot of weight and people haven't been able to refute it! From my own observations of people, I find the normal IQ distribution to be a good explation of why people can or can't. It's that simple.

IQ positively correlates to income and general sucess in life.

IQ correlates to being a better person.. Notice how people of ethnic backgrounds with low IQs tend to be rude and informal? Notice how they commit crimes at a much higher rate? Notice how they're outperformed in academic institutions by asian immigrants, despite recieving affirmative action and quotas?
