Nerve damage
« on: July 12, 2007, 01:16:59 AM »
Yesterday was my squat day.
My heart was not into it but I forced myself to keep going.
My last set just did not feel good at all, no aggression, no pump, no exhilaration and I just could not get the bar comfortable on my upper back
A few minutes after I finished my final set I realised the last three fingers on my left hand where numb!!!
This morning all three fingers have pins and needles
Obviously I have damaged or pinched a nerve some where.
Is there any kinda rehab exercises some one can recommend.
I am conscious of the pins and needles all the time and it is freaking me out.

Nerve Mobilization or Flushing. Usually from the shoulder girdle...you will need someone to show you how though...

looks like shoulder/neck area is in trouble.  are the fingers the only area where you feel numb, no numbness anywhere in the arm?  the numbness will go away in time, but you may ice the neck/back area, get a massage, or go to a chiropractor.

Yes the numbness is only my fingers and a small part of the hand.
So you say it should go away in time?

Is there a site or link that can show me how to do this my self?

yes, it will go away in time, be patient though.  last time i got it from behind the neck shoulder presses the numbness lasted for a couple of months, although it looks like my case was more severe.
