Update on recovery of 7 foot bodybuilder
« on: July 27, 2007, 03:06:55 PM »
I made a thread a while ago about the 7ft (214cm) Mark "Conan" Stevens, but the thread is ancient now, and he has improved a whole lot since then.

This is his site here: http://www.conanstevens.com

He has quite a bit of info there.

After a 6 year off setback in the gym he finally started training again only 1-1/2 years ago.

Nerve damage ate the nerves in his right arm and upper right side of his body. His body regenerated the nerves at only 1mm a day, so it took him 6 full years off before he could start training again.  :-\

Primarily he is an Actor; bodybuilding is just a successful hobby of his. His primary focus is on acting, and bodybuilding is the secondary agenda on his list.  As such he prefers to be compared only to other full time actors physique wise.

Keep in mind that only 2 years ago the entire right upper half of his body looked Emaciated, he really has made a hell of a comeback. He said he still plans on doing a lot more work improving his physique, but he has made a long way for a recovery in only two years.

Here is what he looked like only about 18 months ago: http://www.conanstevens.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,32/?g2_itemId=227

Compared to now: http://www.conanstevens.com/bodybuilding-and-muscle-gain/big-huge-muscle-the-secrets/7-foot-muscleman-photos-july-2007.html

LOL, I just put up the thread because he put up better pictures and is in better shape than in the last one.

Yeah, I am a crappy fan.

Damn, I thought people here would be impressed that a Bodybuilder, even one who does not compete is making a move to bring muscle back to Hollywood.

OR, that going from looking like a fitness model to a bodybuilder's build again in less than 2 years after returning to bodybuilding training would be impressive.

That build on an ectomorph frame tall enough to center in the NBA is some small acheivment.  ::)

Being that you used the term "only" for the nerve regeneration speed.....are you aware at just how fast nerves typically regenerate at?  When speaking of the "1mm per day", thats considered normal to mildy accelerated.  Also, were the nerves severed?  Thats usually the only time nerves need to "regenerate".

Guys, keep in mind that the guy is 7 feet tall and obviously has very long bones and muscles. If the same amount of muscle were put on a guy who was a foot shorter, he'd look huge.
