I usually curl about 65-75 lbs on the straight bar or ez curl bar. I always try to use perfect form and do them slowly.
Because it encourages people to lift more than they can reasonably handle with good form. And when you lift with poor form, your progress will be for shit. (not to mention you'll probably injure yourself)Like Bob Chick says, "It's not how much you can lift, it's how much you look like you can lift" (btw - that's the only time I'll ever agree with bob on anything)Hope this helps.

I usually put about 10-15 lbs on each side of the straight bar or a 25 on each side of the ez-curl bar (which I think weighs about 20-25lbs).

at my best i could do db curls 85 lbs for 8 reps and 100 lbs for 2 reps. pretty good form with 85s but not so much with 100s hahaha. i can only do 55s right now, havent lifted in awhile
