I actually lost my Boston accent at Emerson College in Boston, where a required course for all Mass Communications majors was called "Voice and Articulation." No matter what type of accents we had going in, and we had kids from NY, NJ, deep South, we all came out sounding the same.

Notice that any newscast in the USA, the anchor man and woman have NO regional accent at all. They are all from 'Anywhere, USA!'
