Pet Jealousy or Envy?
« on: August 25, 2007, 12:24:59 PM »
Has anyone ever dealt with this before?

I am finding that it was a contributor to my marriage ending! She was jealous of the way my dog/s responded to me over her and my relationship with them.

Speak on this please!

How so? The dogs loved you more than her?

Thats kind of silly.  It speaks of deeper rooted issues to me.

Yeah, I've seen it--with dogs, with cats, adn with a cockatoo.  I thought both owners were stupid with issues that go way, way deeper than the pets.  Sort of like this situation.

or maybe you've just built up an emotional wall during the time you've been with her and you've become insensitive to her needs and now just in denial about it and the convenient thing for you to do is to pawn the whole problems off on the dogs ?

Your ex had serious insecurity issues. If it wasn't the dog she would have found something/someone else to be jealous of... the checker at the supermarket... a waitress... one of your co-workers.

You got lucky... go find someone with self-esteem.
and keep moving!
