Dennis Wolf should be Mr. Olympia, hands down. He looked spectacular @ prejudging. His physique is what bodybuilding is all about, imho.
THAT SAID, I predict it will go 1) Jay, 2) Vic, 3)Ronnie, 4) Dex, 5) The Wolf...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO!!! Stop the madness!

I think Victor owned everyone in pre-judging. The finals will be interesting. Dennis wolf did look good, but I think he will place 5th at best. He didn't get that final callout, so I think he is pretty far behind.

Dennis wolf needs to bring his traps, calves, lower lats, and forearms up just a little bit. JUST A LITTLE BIT. If he does that, he will be a nicely proportioned body builder and as long as he brings his conditioning to all his shows, he will not lose. He has everything that a body needs to dominate. With Ronnie, he didn't have everything and I am surprised Ronnie dominated for 8 years.
Not to mention he is just a really nice guy and I love to see the nice guy win. He would make an excellent role model for the IFBB and right now, we body builders need as much recognition and publicity as we can get.

Not so fast!! Many would agree that Wolfe should've won last weekend, but why would the "International Federation" of BB want to give the title to soemone who's not from the U.S.? Dorian Yates was the only foreigner to win the covetted title.

Arnold and Franco won and are not originally from the US. They just came here to learn how the Americans dieted for precontest basically. Sammir is not American either, I don't think so anyways.

Dennis needs to get away from Milos and if he makes the improvements he will win. I like Victor, but I think his past will haunt him IMO.

Exactly like Gustavo...didn't he look better when Milos was training him? Now, he's nowhere close to the condition, back when (thanks to Milos). But, that's his choice; to do it on his own (ego). Many proBB's don't know the science behind the contest prep and maintaining prime contest condition. If Milos wasn't so disliked his guys would place higher....and Jay will be Mr. O for another six or seven years. It's about politics of endorsement contracts and the committee. But Jay, still deseves to be Mr.O. Everyone else has to maintain good sportsmanship and good piblicity, like Jay.

The committee, the endorsement and prize money, has grown since the Franco-Arnold era. Now it's about politics. It's a friggin' male beauty pageant! The beauty is in the eyes of the beholder (judges, major sponsor/endorser, committee, etc.), who can influence.

Explain why Dennis needs to get away from Milos??? Dennis came on board in TEAM MILOS this year and placed 3rd in the New York Pro, 1st in the Keystone Pro and 5th in the Olympia!!! Now im just a little confused at what you mean by this, so do tell!

Yesterday i spoke with his wife at a BB-Contest where Dennis did Guestposing. She said that he don`t do the spring contests (AC, NYPro...,...), and only focus on the 2008 Mr. Olympia Contest. In the interview after his guestposing he said, that he will bring up his lacking Bodyparts (calves), and also will bring a "new-personal-best-package" to the 2008 Olympia stage. But also he said, "than it`s up to the judges..."
Afterall he said that he is really satiesfied with a place in the 2007 Mr. Olympia final, but now the "big bad wolf is hungry for more..."
so watch out, that 2008 Mr. Olympia will be a very interesting one.

No it won't be interesting, because if the big-bad-wolf has no calves after a decade of training, he ain't never gonna!
As for those who wanna say Wolf is the uncrowned Mr O, why the fuck is that?
Okay, so he went in cut to the bone, posed well, did everything right.
But the fact is, he's only a potential Mr O. down as far as his knees.
Remember, the title isn't Mr Upper-Body and Quads Olympia. Wolf is tremendous, but he just doesn't have the entire package. Tough shit for him.

Milos talks his mind which I repect, but I think the IFBB is against him. Yes Dennis made great gains with Milos. I thought he should have done better in all of his shows except of course the Keystone. Luke you know this sport is political.

Why does everyone use the word 'political'? Kinda haughty term for what's being discussed, eh?
I mean, what are we talking about here? A shower of playground pricks, whispering in the shadows about who's sponsoring who to pretend to use what, therefore who gets to win what and when.
That's what.
Politics! Pah!

That's great Chaos, but that post you quoted didn't have anything to do with Ron Coleman or Dennis Wolf or...
I'd gone off at a tangent. It's my hobby LOL!
However, to get back to the O and its competitors... There's no friggin' way Coleman's calves are as bad as Wolf's. Wolf is unfortunate, his calves are thin enough to make his legs look like carrots. The guy is astounding, but he's always gonna be dragged down by the calves.
If he'd had a quality implant job before he rose to the world stage, maybe last week would've been a whole nuther story.
He's on the record deluding himself that he can hit those calves hard and bring them up, as they say. No. Bill Grant tried for twenty years.
Anyhoo, good to hear from ya.
Weather's shite here, colder than fuck most days, and it's downhill from here until maybe May. Bet it's about 70 degrees in CA, eh ya bastard!?

my post included a tidbit about Coleman, are you handicapped? I'm not sure how bad they were, but Arnold had some scrawny calves early in his career, and we know how that turned out.... 75 degrees today, and beautiful outside

Arnold never in his career had great calves, about 20" in top form, but they were balanced well enough with his 28/half " thighs. (But yeah, they were piss-poor for the first five years or so because, Arnold said, that was the thinking in Europe then. Arms, chest, screw everything else.)
However, a couple of inches make a helluva difference. Let's assume for simplicity's sake that Wolf has 32" thighs. In that case, his calves come in at significantly less than 20", which makes for the carroty look I mentioned earlier, when the leg is considered as a whole. Length of the shank from ankle to knee is obviously a factor too, which is why taller guys' scrawny calves are more obvious.
High calves can be a factor, and it's a problem for many black men in particular. Anyways, having looked closely at Wolf's calves, their insertions aren't what you'd call high at all. The muscles just don't fill enough space to be 'aesthetically pleasing'.
I think percentages is a good way to decide (apart from just looking) how your proportions are.
For instance, I think that for a BBer or indeed anyone to look top-bottom balanced, the thigh must be at least 50% i.e. half of the chest measurement.
Likewise, the lower leg ought to be say 70% of the thigh measurement. Same for upper arm/forearm ratio, but that usually comes naturally through upper-body work.
Raised/flexed arms (that is, biceps peaked out) might be one-third of the chest measurement.
And ideally, waist would be less than 60% of chest size, achieveable for most BBers, I would think.
Other than that, blame your parents! Fuck-all to be done about size of joints/pelvis/head, limb length, height or size of hands/feet.
