Anyone following the baseball playoffs?
« on: October 17, 2007, 03:51:40 PM »
Boston down 1-3 and it ain't lookin' good.  Too bad, I was hoping to see them get another WS.  Anyone have a favorite for taking it all?

lol, it's funny that people are either totally pro-yankees or totally anti.  I'm usually anti, though a part of me wanted to see them in the Series because just going by their roster on paper, you're guaranteed a good game most of the time.

Who are you taking between the Indians and Rockies?  Right now I'd say the rockies.  Their 22-1 streak right now may be the best ever going into a post-season.  I'm not a huge fan of them and I think their starting pitching basically sucks but they've been getting a shitload of run support in the past month.

Well I'm born and raised in NY, so it's a no-brainer that I'm a yankees fan.
Letting Torre go will be a bad move. He actually his best work this year and now they want to dump him?

They ran into a hot team, shit happens and there are no guarantees

I've been following this Torre gossip on SI-mlb.  I agree it would be stupid to fire him.  The manager does have a key role in a team's success, but it's exaggerated too much of the time.  Fact is, you can't blame Torre for a player's slump or for pitchers giving up runs.  If I were Torre, I'd tell the NY brass to go fuck themselves and go to St. Louis or something, rather than put up with this media shit.

This just in...Torre turns down Yanks offer so the Yanks are going to look for another manager.  Props to Torre for not putting up with the bullshit of the Steinbrenners anymore.

3-2 now, so now its pretty much anyones game. Boston has game six at home and if they win that, its sudden death, anyones ball game.

Yup.  Beckett did an awesome job tonight.  Too bad he can't pitch the next two games.  The Sox have the '04 series against the Yanks to look back to, where they came back from an 0-3 deficit to win.
