I agree a win is a win. No matter how you get it. I feel the Cowboys might have been looking past the bills a little this week.
You really think so? I have a hard time believing that in this day and age of pro football that teams can look past certain opponents to other games on the schedule.
I feel that way because of the parity in the NFL nowadays. Every team has talent, some a little stronger than others at certain postions. But the NFL is set up now where every team has a legitimate shot at beating an overwhelming favorite on any given week. Plus, the players are paid a lot more money these days and are without guaranteed contracts. So I would think every NFL player would lay it all on the line, no matter who the opponent is. There's enough film surveillance during a game that could easily point out to coaches when players weren't giving their best effort.
If the year was 1994 and the 49ers were playing the Cowboys the week after playing the Bucs, then maybe back in those times you could say that teams would look past certain opponents. Nowadays? Forget it!
For instance, Do I think the Ravens are looking past the winless Rams this Sunday? Not a fucking chance! A winless team in particular, are going to put it all on the line because they know at the end of the season that some major changes to the team are underway in the offseason. Every player is expendable to varying degrees.
If you're looking past winless opponents(or any opponent) in today's NFL, then you're in for a long day and you're going to get your dick knocked in the dirt.
