Crimes?? He got set up and busted for juice, big deal.  Crime my ass.

Newsflash, the drugs are STILL ILLEGAL. Whether you and I think drugs should be or shouldn't be is another topic. Again, as it stands right NOW, they are illegal, and thus, there are consequences involved.

I have nothing personal against Victor and think he has incredible physique, etc.
I believe he was convicted and spent time in a NY prison for a felony drug charge 2-3 years ago?
Wouldn't this violta the IFBB pro divisions own rules and guideline for being  eligible to compete as
an IFBB pro?  Just curious, thanks, Howard

You do sound like Dexter, but lets say we follow the IFBB "book of rules" Steroids are not tolerated in IFBB so  then only Flex Wheler is allow to compete sice he's the only  drug free bb at the moment.

The 'amazing physique' should be disregarded. He is a convicted criminal, plain and simple.

Exactly...! Read the beginning of the thread and it should bring you up to speed about "Victor's past".

Don't get me wrong, dude looks sick on stage. But one has to be accountable for his actions and his actions have NOT been that of a 'model citizen'.

Which is why he will never win any title of significance

Let me make this clear. I think Victor is a good pro and I enjoy seeing him on stage.
However, how can we ever have any consistant JUDGING standard when all the other aspects related to the sport
( felons being allowed back, useing listed banned drugs, etc) are ignored or rules bent.

...and some wonder why the sport lacks a credible, consistant standard ? geeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss shhh
I accepted it was a crazy wonderful circus years ago and stopped taking serious who won what big pro show years ago. I enjoy the events and the physiques and could care less who wins.

Credibility and consistency. These two words resonate.

Just imagine if someone like Tiger Woods took hundreds of fees for golf club memberships, then closed the club in short order without word or refund.

And he got caught dealing cocaine.

He would never be welcomed back on the tour.

He'd be persona non grata ala Eliot Spitzer.

And so we have Martinez......

If a person serves time in jail for a crime they are convicted of - they have been punished and paid their debt to society!  Why should a criminal record be held against anyone who has served their time and is trying to move on with their life?

Time served should be considered as paying one's dues.

However, image and character should also be considered.

And, in the real world, guys with the dossier like the one Martinez have built for themselves will always be held against them...fair or not.

Furthermore, he has more than one offense (several)

the IFBB should have suspended him for at least a couple of years after he got out of jail... that would have been punishment enough.. they should do that to all pros who get busted by the law

Gotta love the way that stooge Chick takes on all-comers while Manion is at a contest or on holiday! Then it is back to business as usual. Which means he keeps his trap shut. If you didn't know better you would swear the guy was a puppet.

#%$#$ the IFBB is all that I can add.

Why should any of these guys not be allowed to compete if they are felons or not? 99.95 of pros are felons as well as most of the people on this board, they just havn't gotten caught yet. Bottom line is that Vic sells tickets to these shows and the IFFB would lose money.

How do you feel about Lee Priest's permanent ban by the IFBB? Is it fair punishment or has he "served his time"?

I never did agree with it but like Bob said, it's a club and they can do what they want.
