they are less important then back, quads, hams, arms, chest and abs or ya an delts.

calves are forarms rank right up there with glutes, stop pretending they are a centerpiece muscle. nobody has won on crazy calfs, but people have won based on crazy backs, legs and chests.

Calves complete the physique period. you don't have great calves you don't have a complete physique its NOT about them winning contests for you it about being more than just big everywhere else its about balance & proportion , something missing in this day and age back in the 80s missing world class calves prevented you from winning contests ask Tony Pearson , Bill Grant and Brian Buchannon , today who cares if you have 35" quads and 17" calves thats not bodybuilding .
