I spent a few years in Sweden, near Djurgården Stockholm.

Fresh air, good looking girls, but...
A horrible country, horrible weather, almost no daylight half of the year.
Boring nightclubs, nothing to buy just a few crappy stores on a small shopping street.
90% of their lives the swedes spend indoors.

shitty, bad, bad beaches with freezing cold water.
People there, are forced to pay the most expensive tax in the world on their salary.

I'm a night person, so for me that is perfect. In fact I'd prefer going as northerly as possible. Light sucks. As for rain: I'm from Holland. Sweden (except for the southern-most part) is drier than what I'm used to. :)

I've done the whole clubbing thing for more than long enough, so that's not what I'm going for. Then I'd move to Ibiza or Berlin.

Going to Sweden for the beaches is like going to Holland for skiing: a retarded idea.

All in all it is a reference bias: Sweden, and to a lesser degree Canada, have exactly what I want at this time in my life. That may very well differ from what others want. Hell, 5 years ago I was contemplating moving to Ibiza myself. :)

Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and maybe a few areas in the USA if there are not to many religious nutcases living in that area.

Fair enough :)

I however hate constant darkness, no sunlight, cold ass weather, freezing, thick winter-clothing etc... shit like that is depressing.

I don't understand the appeal of places like Scandanavian countries or Canada for some people either...  both are cold as fucck.  I prefer a warmer climate.

I live in the USA and I have been fortunate to be able to travel to various countries.  There are a lot of countries that I would like to visit or revisit but there are only a few that I would actually like to live.

Would like to visit or revisit.
Canada (Toronto) - Expensive.  Unbearable winter.
Mexico (Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico City, etc...) - Relatively inexpensive.  Unbearable heat in the summer.
Belgium - Expensive.  Beautiful city (Brussels)
France - Expensive.  Beautiful city (Paris).
England (London, Manchester) - Expensive.  Dreary at times (rainy, foggy).
Japan.  Expensive
South Africa (Cape Town, J'Burg) - Relatively inexpensive.  Can be dangerous at times or at certain areas.
Jamaica
Korea
India
Thailand
Spain
Sweden
Ireland

Would like to live (as long as I am still working for an American Company and this is a temporary assignment):
Brazil - Relatively inexpensive.  Rio DJ, beautiful women, beautiful country.  Would like to live there.
China - (Shanghai, Hongkong, Shenzen, etc...) relatively inexpensive.
Vietnam - Relatively inexpensive.  Beautiful country.

However, I still like USA the best.  There are still plenty of states that I haven't visited yet such as Alaska, Washington, etc...

Hurricanes are a minor inconvenience unless you're stupid and don't heed evacuation warnings.  Maybe once every two years on average you have one come close enough to you to have an effect.  Big deal.  Just get on a plane and take an unexpected two or three day vacation somewhere if one is coming.

The U.S. has some beautiful areas but sadly it is the most hated nation on Earth.
They are currently fighting a war over greed/the benefit of a few corrupt individuals on top. This seems to be a reoccurring theme in the United States.  Most Americans are such sheep that they can’t recognize what’s in front of them.  The scale of corruption in the U.S. is a threat not only to its citizens, but the rest of the world.  The WTC evidence that I’ve seen sure as hell points to a cover-up.  What kind of government does this to its own citizens?  Anywhere but the U.S. is fine with me.

Originally from Canada, although a great nation to live, I think the best place in the world is the United States. I'd like to live in Seattle or San Francisco. Compared to the Netherlands, which is where I work and thus currently live, for 6 years now, any hick town in the US will suffice though.

I am deeply disappointed by the sad state of affairs in Europe, I though it would be fun here. Instead what I found was a bunch of America-hating, arab loving, anti-jewish cocksuckers. Don't believe for a moment that the Dutch are "tolerant" as they like to call it, for their tolerance does not go beyond weed and islam. Anything American and (especially) Jewish, is hated with a passion. The biggest part of the population also firmly believes that the state of Israel is the cause of all the problems in the world. I will leave here soon  ;D

All ranting aside, other places I'd like to live are:

Mexico, especially Yucatan, like Playa del Carmen or Cozumel. Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta. Def. gonna retire in Mexico.
Canada, especially Edmonton, although I can't stand the winter there. Vancouver is nice though. I've heard Montreal is really nice too, but i have never been there.
Any islans in the Caribbean would be nice, like the Bahamas.
