I worked at a college, for a while. Once a year, there would be a bring-your-parents-to-school-day. You'd see these 18-20 year old cute girls, with their 45-50 year-old moms, who were, for the most part, a mess. Once in a while, maybe 5% of the time, the mom would actually look better than the daughter.
