You do realize that "the back" is a major factor in five of the seven mandatory poses don't you? Without wide/thick lats, you cannot pull off a FDB, A&T, FLS, BDB & BLS.

No calves, torn bi. When the person is standing there, you can tell who has the better structure.

Sure there is more to it than that, overall size, hardness, but genetic structure makes a big difference. This is why Chick always says he would wipe the floor with everyone knocking him when he was 19. His structure is excellent.

Don't write 2000 pages on this, but i think Ronnie in 1998-9, 2003 and 2005 was unbeatable by a mile even with Dorian's crazy conditioning. Too big and too complete. That is what it would have taken to beat Dorian.

Nonsense Shawn Ray was very critical of the judges his whole career , he was at the judged meeting explaining to them he hopes his physique is being judged and not his opinions , and by placing second I'd say the judges were being fair .
