take the lompryah ferry to phangan.

alot nicer than samui.

samui is very commercialised now but phangan remains virtually untouched- it still is what backpackers found samui to be in the 70's.

if you want the nicest beaches head north to bottle beach. stay away from haad rin. it is an hippie infested shit-hole.

Thanks for the advise We're already booked the hotel etc so i think we're gonna stay on Samui. I've been there 2 years ago and i liked the place, hope that it hasn't changed a lot after that.

No, I had a girlfriend who was a model who got a job there.  She wanted me to go and even paid for my ticket.  for some reason I wanted to go to Palm Springs instead.  I went there every year at Spring Break and for some reason I rather wanted to go there.  So ended up moving to Greece and she was pissed at me.  So I have always wanted to go to Mykonos.  I had a few trips planned and then had to cancel.  Just a few years ago we were going to Europe for a month for a soccer tour with my oldest daughter.  Then 911 hit and everyone canceled the trip.  I plan to go in 2008 since I will be over there for FIBO.  I want to spend a month in Europe since I will be there anyway.  That is just another thing making me lose weight finally is because I am traveling so much next year.  Finally getting out and doing stuff now
