@SF1900:
How much can you make as a clinic psychologist, Phd in the US per year? Also opposed to MDs offering psychotherapy?
In Germany it really sucks, not worth all the years... I left clinical psychology and focused on business psychology and will hopefully get my master within the next two months and then start a job in an HR department of a global player. Not bad, but I don't get rich this way either...
Depends on the state, and if it offers license for a masters level, so you can practice as a assitant, so you need to rethink getting a PhD/PsyD, if the APA continues it's steamrolling on requiring licensure to only PhD/PsyD.
The MD level of psychiatry is a dying proffession, sad to say. Still one of the lowest paid of ALL MDs.
Clinical psyc in the US is of course a growing field, your looking at with a masters 59 + easy, depending on state, if you want to practice with a Masters and move to say New Mexico, or Louisiana, and have all the fringe benefits as a Doctor, including some of the pay.
With a PSyD PhD your looking at 75k +.
But a masters in business psychology offers about the same amount , with oppurtunity for advancement over here in the US
