most of that was pretty bad. Lethargic "sprints", 11 good reps and of course the awkward looking burpees (although he can be excused if he was protecting his tricep).

Did you see how out of breath he was?

This performance was pretty sad considering at one time cormier was considered one the strongest bbers. Check out battle for the o 96 where chris and a young melvin anthony are doing pullups. Chris literally exploded with each rep!

I cant understand why levrone hasnt tried out for this. He seems to possess decent athletiscim even when 250lbs+ and he'd get far exposure on the show than any of his shit films ever would.

I hope he makes it. he'll put some star power on the show, and be a good addition.

He'll be scary big next to the other male gladiators who are no more than fitness models IMO.

fitness models that can move....

chris would throw up on the contestants before the challenge would end. you need at least a little cardio to be on that show....

Call me crazy but that was a most pathetic attempt at atleticism. I love Cormier by the way but I believe this is something Phil Heath is better suited for.

Cormier needed to drop to about 250 before he tried out. He should know that, he played football in college, as well as wrestling.

I agree- he did the sprint contest when he said he could outrun a world class sprinter. ::) He got nailed pretty hard on that one...but most BBers wouldn't even get off the starting line; to give Kevin some credit.
I don't think Levrone could currently compete, he'd have to get back on his shit to do something.

When a job comes up to play a part for NBC and you want to make a bigger name for yourself I'd say it's a good idea.

i second that. Even the biggest of the big and most famous bodybuilders are very much unknown and if a mainstream shot like this comes along no matter how big they are they would be stupid not to take it!!

When I was in the Corps...I was 240...& could do 20 complete dead hang pull ups....behind the neck or in front of the chin....no problem.

If you ever seen the correct Marine Corps pull up performed....you would be like 'Holy shit'.  You are told when to start pulling from a complete dead hang (no swinging....no movement from your legs).  When your chin clears they will count the rep.....& this is for every pull up performed.

You also trained for that.  Do you honestly think Cormier practiced doing chins?  He prolly woke up 15min before he did that.

Lmao.  Bullshit.  Those lazy fucks do pullDOWNS, especially the heavy dudes.

What an ignorant comment.

Ronnie and Dorian I don't recall having ever seen them do 1 pullup, ever.

yep. I only see skinny guys doing chin-ups. About a 1/3 of those are tappouters.  :-\
BTW, is it true that chin-ups separate the ligaments in your back? Arnold said that in his book.

The only BBers who would have half a chance on that show would be big dudes like Freeman, Q.T.

Levrone and Cormier would get knocked around, they aren't big enough people

My point was that who cares if they are too lazy to do them.  Not doing them has not held either one of them back.

where in the world do you guys get 28 reps...I see maybe 10 decent reps and the rest is pathetic...

And most pros don't do pullups not because they are lazy, its because they can't do them...

Cormier didn't look anywere close to 250 at the montreal pro, ane he was standing 3 feets from me

I'd say he competed at 230 MAX last year
