Good new interview with Freddy Ortiz
« on: July 01, 2008, 04:09:25 PM »
Bodybuilding.com has a great interview with Freddy Ortiz.  He does an excellent job of avoiding the question as to whether he took steroids.  He'd be a great politician.

    "[ Q ] Were you a natural competitor?

That is the way it is supposed to be, but today they use everything and damage their bodies.

[ Q ] So you were all natural?

I do believe that is the only way to do it."

If he did use steroids, doubt he used much.  Certainly was one of the best, though, as pointed out in the interview, he could have used some more work on his legs.

way to "Bill Clinton" his way around the answer.

his answers; or lack thereof would definately suggest he used steroids.  not that there is anything wrong with that.

Ortiz was great. Obviously he did aas, and there have been others who mentioned how amazed they were at the handfulls of "candy" he took post workout.

Scott, Ortiz, Pearl and all the others like to keep that fable that things were different back in the day, we know better, but they were still great.

Things were different "back in the day."  They just weren't necessarily steroid-free as Scott, Ortiz, Pearl and others want us to believe.  The pros now certainly take a shitload more chemicals than the bodybuilders did back in the 60's and 70's.  And I believe Pearl is right, per his statement in PBW this week...today's pro's are very unhealthy compared to the BB's of the past and health is not something that is promoted as much in the BB magazines.

You don't get 20 5/8 inch arms in the 60's at 5'5 without juice.

But D-bol is a very powerful drug, and 3-4 a day is plenty to blow up on.
