Is "touchdown" Tommy Vardell on the top 50 list?

I think the guy had 6 touchdowns over an 8 year career.

Definitely a bust.

How about Gino Torretta?

Nah.  He was a seventh round pick.

He should give his Heisman back.   >:(  Faulk should have won it.

How about Mark Malone.  28th pick of the 1980 draft.  Taken ahead of Dwight Stephenson, Ray Donaldson, Matt Millen, Keena Turner, Joe Cribbs.

Also taken that year with the 26th pick, Charles White.  What a bust.

Definitely a bust.

True, but received strong recommendations to make the pro bowl in 1994 as a fullback. That was the year that Barry Sanders rushed for over 2,000 yards. The only year that Sanders has ever run behind a fullback(Vardell) in the pros.

To me, Mandarich is the biggest bust of all time.

Tony "Juggs" Mandarich was considered the finest NFL lineman ever without playing a down.  When he did play, he was terrible.

To think GB passed on Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders and Derrick Thomas.

Oh the horror...the horror...

Barry getting stuck in Detroit was just a crime (with no FB, TE, and a bad offense).  He would have rushed for 20,000 yards if he played in Dallas instead of Detroit.

I still have the cover of SI with him on the cover as a senior.  He was 6'6", 315, and ran a 4.6.  A total chemical creation.  Could not play without the sauce.

You mean you wern't a fan of the Mouse Davis Run and Shoot offense? Four wideouts, no FB on ever down where little wide receivers were forced to block for Barry Sanders on running plays? LOL! It was a good thing Barry could produce that yardage on his own most of the time.

Poor Barry. I bet he thought Detroit would be a playoff team for years when they made it to the NFC championship game during the '91 season. They lost to the Skins 41-10, oh by way. Guy should've been traded out of there after 5 seasons in Detroit. In today's NFL free agency, he could've caught on with another team.

That was such a retarded article. The amount of food he claimed he ate was all a bunch of bullshit. I remember when John Madden put him on the All-MAdden team back in 1988 when he was still a college senior at Michigan State. He many more All-Madden teams did John put Tony on when he made the pros? hmmmmm.

Mandarach was pathetic. Just an overhyped needle using douchebag who was exposed as a fraud in the pros.

What he did with that cast in that offense is nothing short of amazing.  Best RB I've ever seen.

He was a monster at Michigan State.  I remember him blocking a guy by putting his hand underneath the guy's face mask and driving him into the ground.

He turned out to be the flip side of Bosworth, without the marketing savvy.

This is the year that will tell whether or not Alex Smith belongs on that list.

But it is case where pereception overcame reality.  Eventually people will see the Vince Young mirage (hence my use of the word "Ultimately").  One need only look at his stats to see it coming.  He has a career 69.0 QB rating and nine more interceptions than TDs (last year 9 TD and 17 ints).  Joey Harrington last year had a QB rating which was 6 points higher than Young and Harrington is already considered a "bust."

Here are some of the other noted QBs, among numerous others, with a higher QB rating last year than the "great" Vince Young:

Sage Rosenfels (84.8)
John Kitna (80.9)
Damon Huard (76.8)
Kyle Bowler (75.2)
