Not in great shape....had it appraised at 11K...mint condition is much more....I know a dealer who has 15 of them!

I get my books, esp. 1sts, signed (not personalized!) by the respective authors. Gives me some meaning and can increase their value, in some cases very significantly. It's all supply and demand.

I have Amazing #1, still something I would never, ever part with. I have all Amazings up to #300. Other than my house and practice, my most cherished collection.

When I'm in Toronto, I sometimes stop in at comic/collectible store, The Silver Snail, just to see the neat stuff for sale. Some of it is incredible. They have some of the rare(r) comics framed and hanging on the wall. If I collected them, that's what I'd do. Chicks hate that kind of shit.

/do you think what ones you'd grab in case of fire? I have nightmares about that.

For anyone out there who collects memoribilia. Go to this site. We have a lot more than is listed. If you are looking for something ask me and I will see if we have it. We have a great 1926 World Series ball signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. I am taking pics of it tomorrow and will have it up on the site. If you know anyone who collects this stuff contact me. If they buy it I will pay you a commission. We have everything right here. Just trying to dump stuff now cause it is getting to be too much. A lot of artwork and jerseys, bats, balls etc. Hollywood stuff I have not put up yet.

Holy smokes Only that would be the coolest. I'm a huge Gehrig fan and wear his #4 for baseball. The people I play with have no idea who he is.

A lot of people do that if they can get the money. I think at BB shows not too many people are interested in paying for an autograph from a BB. It is the BB's who have made a name for themselves outside of BB that have a little more power to charge money. That is why Lou does it. Lou is not famous for being a BB or in Pumping Iron. He is famous around the world for one thing and that is being the Hulk. He is milking it for all its worth which is something not many people can do. People make fun of him charging for an autograph but if he can get it why not. Over the past 30 years how much money do you thnk he has made selling his autograph. I bet a lot of money. And it is all gravy money too.

I'd pay for autographs from any of the Golden AGE guys...Draper, etc...not todays guys, though...although I'd still be very respectful.

Sheeeooot...Chimpy, I dunno....that would be a catastrophe...I have about 900 total...I'd grab photos, irreplaceable stuff like that...and my cat, of course. She's been with me for years...very dependable...moreso than any woman has ever been for me...
