Looking at Bob at this show, him at 15, me 17, I recall thinking, "How the F--- can someone look so thick at so young an age?

And, the drug test at this show was quite strngent...with over 100 entrants, I'd say MAYBE 10% were on something....unlike today's bogus 'natural' organizations (And I utter this cynical statement via firsthand experience)

Robinson would look insane with today's advnaces.

Yes. I think with the advanced equipment his legs would be phenomenal. Note all the outstanding glutes and hamstrings compared to the golden era...I think this is largely due to better equipment...

I saw Kal training at World's gym, late 70's. He was very strong. He was doing seated cable rows with the whole stack, must have been over 350 pounds with two 45 pound plates attached. Amazing upper body..too bad his legs never matched up.

Easily for him.

When he was at my gym in 81, he repped four wheels on each side of the bar on inclines. His arms were not only gigantic, but he was stronger than he looked...

I never got big enough, in my opinion, but knew how to get ripped. We did some ridiculously stupid diets in the 80's. I was almost always in the light heavies, but have competed as a MW, LHW, and even once or twice as a HW.

Looked best at 186 to 190, for the most part. I think 87 was my best year condition wise, 86 was my biggest ever onstage...I will post some 86 pics with me and Vic Terra

Good question...Robby and Zane are my two favorites of all time.

But, when it came to Olympia time, Robby would always mysteriously show up "off" conditioning wise. Zane would then trounce him.

Robby would destroy everyone in every other show, all year long, but, come O time, he'd hold water or whatever.

Very perplexing, to say the least!
