Well...
...the same question like on flexonline... I'll give you the same answer...
To tell the truth, in the last 3 years I undertrained my legs because they grows very fast. For example 3 years ago I did squats with 550 lbs without problem. These days I mostly do just front squats with lighter weight...but sometimes I need more adrenaline and go as low as 4-5 reps during the front squats with 485 lbs. I like the heavy weights.
Sample leg workout?
Let' see...
1. Leg extensions - 3x30 (warm up)
2. Front squat - 3 warm up sets then 4 sets 12-10-8-6 sometimes even lower reps
3. Stiff leg deadlifts 4x10-15
3. Lunges (barbell or dumbbell) 4 sets
4. Lying leg curls 4x10-15
5. Leg extensions 4x20
(and I like Hack squats also but there isn't any good one machine in Hungary...
)
But that's maybe shows nothing...as I said I undertrain my legs...that mostly means lower intensity...these are not hardcore workouts for me. I did the squats hard but then I just train for shape. I think now I don't need bigger legs. I need better legs. Maybe a little bit more quad sweep and bigger hams but the more important is...more cross striations on my quad, drier hams and much drier glutes.
So what did I do for leg mass in the past? Regular squats, leg presses, stiff leg deads and lying curls with as big weights as possible. Maybe it isn't works for everyone but it worked for me...
