WTH happened to hollywood??

I was watching this movie Malice last night, with Alec Baldwin, Bill Pullman and Nicole Kidman. It was a crime thriller. No action, all it had was good writing and acting. not 10/10 material but it kept my attention. simple movies like this don't exist anymore, yeah?

What is hollywood doing? Obviously it's all about the box office numbers. Today the art of movie making is no more. It's terrible.

Old movies are great to watch, you could see actors act. Actors don't care because they only want a paycheck. I watched the French Connection the other night too with Gene Hackman. Good movie.

another old movie I saw recently was Dead Awake with another baldwin brother, it was a film noir type of film. It was a good movie. Baldwin is an insomniac and mysterious stuff happens while he sleeps walks. it was not bad.

I discussed this topic with a friend not to long ago. There's this assumption that a movie has to be the best on every level to deem it worthy to watch.
I thought about this after seeing that last Fantastic Four. It got trashed and didn't do good but it's based on a fucking comic book. It is what it is, entertainment.
