Early Thursday morning, officers in Plano responded to a caller’s concern about Jacobs, 35. Upon the officers’ arrival at the home, Jacobs and Earhart-Savell were found shot to death.

Jacobs’s father, David, of Jasper, Ga., said in a telephone interview Thursday that Plano police officials said they had little idea what had happened to his son.

“I got a call from an anonymous caller who said, ‘Call the Plano Police Department,’ ” he said. “I just got off the phone with the police about 30 seconds ago, and they told me about David, but said they didn’t know how it happened.”

He added: “I spoke with David through a text message about three or four days ago, and he said he was fine. He has been trying to rebuild his life. He got crossed with some bad things and made some bad choices. At this point, I am just beside myself.”

This is a very sad case. I didn't know he snitched on police officers too. People have been calling him a POS all morning, and it might be a murder case? Wow, talk about jumping to conclusions.

If he ratted out police officers and pro athletes, then yes, he did put himself in a helluva jam. People have a lot to lose, and many will do anything to prevent it.

Moral of the story - if it was murder - don't commit crimes, and if you do, don't rat when you get caught. And sadly, don't hang out with people who rat, or you might get caught up in their mess.

What a sad mess. Prayers to their families.

You're saying I jumped to conclusions by saying police should look at this closely, as the motive points to him not doing it (about to get rich from book deal) and someone else possibly doing it (the guy was about to rat on a lot of rich people)?
