Bay, Good friends of mine celebrated a birthday party on one of those inaccessible Kauai beaches.  They actually did fly in by helicopter and were picked up many hours later from a beach that may be the same one shown in that Kauai coastline photo.

It's sort of a yearly thing for them.

I never did go on that birthday excursion but I have hiked into Kololau Valley (spelling) more than once and even camped in the huge cave there for a few days while other friends went pig hunting up the valley.

Kind of cool taking a shower every morning under a waterfall.

The big problem was hiking back out because you have to leave at sunup and that sun shines on the largest upgrade going out and it gets hot as hell no matter what time of day it is.

The big guy who is the subject of this post looks like a good Samoan friend by the name of John Philippe ..... a Powerlifter who passed away in Hawaii a few years back.

Coolness!  Over the last 2-3 years, I have been to Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island.  They are all different and beautiful, but Kauai is by far the most romantic! I highly recommend it for lovers or as a honeymoon destination.  I am sure you are referring to the Na Pali Coast on Kauai; it is only accessible via boat or helicopter.  It is truly beautiful!  If you can afford it do the helicopter tour (on Kauai or the Big Island--these islands have places you cannot drive or hike to).  It is not cheap but it is worth it!

Hey, BAY! I know Hawaii as well as most anyone (all the islands) and at one time was the longest long-term resident of Waikiki of all time.

I can recall the days when it was one of the best beach towns throughout the world to live in and where the rent was less than $80 a month with nightly parties everywhere from Diamond Head to the Ala Wai Canal.

We'd all get loaded and go see Don Ho at Dukes in the International Market Place and then hit the Monkey Bar and laff our asses off at their antics.

It was phenomional living until they sold out to the foreigners from Asia and that ruined it entirely.

If you have any questions about Hawaii, I'll do my best to give ya honest answers.

One big succestion ... the best and cheapest way to enjoy the Islands is to take the 7 day cruise that visits each of them. Then once you get back on Oahu, spend another seven days in the cheapest hotel you can find in Waikiki and party your butt off.

I did that for too damn many years and got tired and packed it up and left , but I still kinda miss it.
