It really depends how many of those felonies his lawyer can get dropped or knocked down to misdemenors, but I'd bet he get some jail.  Too bad he was growing it himself and has no big fish to rat out...  that could help him negotiate quite a bit.

Remember don't panic.  Up to...means up to a certain amount of time...not that you will receive the max necessarily.  It can mean probation to x amount of time depending on the charge.   Like chaos said you may be able to plea your case down if you plead guilty.  If so think about it especially if they've got you cold.  Meanwhile, take care not to post online any type of admission.  The amounts you're talking about don't sound earthshattering.

Take your bust as a sign to be done w/that stuff.  If it happens again you are surely screwed.

I'm not a real expert, but I'd say the drug laws here suck. Definitely compared to Cali. Think New York City(45mins north)

In CA you would be in for some jail time, and yes, a plea bargain would be a good way to dispose of many of the charges, if you are in fact guilty.

You are actually very lucky you are in CT state court- if that was a federal beef you would be doing serious jail time, very serious. No parole in the federal system, 10 years is 10 years (minus 15% for good behaviour). State court, 10 years = 5 years plus parole for 5 years.

As for the "arrests", arrests don't mean shit, only convictions.

Get A JOB PRONTO-even of it is Wal Mart. You dont want to go into court with no visible means of support, the court will automatically think drug dealer.

You also might consider VOLUNTARILY enolling in a narcotics anonymous type program. Your lawyer can point you in the right direction.
