Musclephone alert --> Craig Titus was sentenced to 21-55 years.. Kelly Ryan was sentenced 6-26 years in prison.

Notes....

Craig Titus pleaded guilty on May 30 to second-degree murder, kidnapping and arson. Kelly Ryan pleaded guilty to arson and Nevada’s equivalent of no contest to battery with a deadly weapon.

According the sources, Kelly read a statement, and could not stop crying.  Then Craig came up, said he was sorry, and called himself a coward for his acts, and apoligized.

Then Maura James came up, and begged the judge for the maximum sentence, and asked for a gag order on Craig and Kelly.

The judge decided not to impose a gag order, then procedeed to lecture Craig and Kelly, and then he threw the book at them, and gave them whatever he could.

Kelly’s sentence of 6 to 26 years means that in 6 years, she will be eligible for parole, although she has served close to 3 years, with a maximum of 26 years she can spend in jail.  Craig’’s sentence of 21 to 51 years means that in 21 years, he will be eligible for parole in 21 years, less time served already.

  I must say that this veredictum is most surprising. Considering how harsh the American judicial system is when it comes to crimes of violence, I expected them to either receive capital punishment or life sentences.

  But the American judicial system is also pretty lenient and more gentle when it comes to the sentencing of female, perhaps because American Society is pretty chauvinistic, so the fact that Kelly got a much lighter sentence than Craig doesen't surprise me in the least.

I wouldn't count on them making parole anytime soon.

It sounds like Maura James will show up and kill the parole every single time.  No parole board member is going to want a dumbass like Craig back out on the streets.  Craig will probably take out a hit on her after he is denied his 2nd parole attempt.

What a pathetic case from the get go.  Craig & Kelly performed off one of the most horribly botched murders of all time.  Burning the body in their own car!  Going and confessing it to the police and numerous friends..running away, confessing again.  Delay delay delay for years the inevitable.  Pissing off a known hanging judge..

At some point during his incarceration Craig will be placed under a gag order.

  You talk as if he were some axe murderer or some thrill-seeking sadist like the Joker from "The Dark Knight". Has it ever occured to you that a guy who showed no pattern of violent behavior before this homicide might not ever kill again? Has it ever occured to you that this act was exceptional for him and that he might be genuinely sorry and live a life of rectitude after this? I am saying this because there have been cases of murderers who delivered themselves to justice because they felt genuinely sorry and wanted to pay for what they did. Sure, there are sumbags like "Tookie" who only "repented" because they wanted to escape that death penalty, but there are murderers who genuinely repent.
